“Memories Die Hard” 14 October 2022 review by Barbara Dunn, BJD, Santa Fe, Texas
My favorite theme in life is memories. And reading mike’s “Memories Die Hard” brought on the fact that we live’em, carry’em. They are embedded in our minds and souls. He proclaimed life as it is, hard at times, emotional. If we live through them we struggle on to greater awareness. As I enjoyed each page, I find encouragement to take a strong stand amid the wiles of this world.
Thank you for your service Mike. It was wonderful to meet you and become like a brother over the years. Keep writing, always a great read... God bless your steps.
*I met Barbara and her late husband in Santa Fe, Texas, during the 1990s. They warmly welcomed me into their home with open arms, where I stayed during many trucking trips and performed with a variety of wonderful musicians who attended a number of the weekend Oprys along Route 6, south of Houston; The Manvel, Santa Fe, Pearland Opry and Pam’s Kitchen. Thank you Barbara for providing me with some truly treasured memories. Mike Johnson

“A Real Live Country Song” 14 October 2022 by Donald Ewert Milwaukee, Wisconsin
I read the rest of “A Real Live Country Song” last night. It was like watching a movie, and I felt I was right there with you, Kyle, Jan and all the others! It was cleverly written as another person meeting Mike Johnson, #1 Black Yodeler. I think I'll play one of Mike's CD's this morning before going on a walk!!
*Donald Ewert was one of my very first subscribers to my Top-Rail Chatter Independent Country Music Magazine from when it published in January 1995 right on up to when it folded in 2002. Over the years we’ve became snail mail and recently email pals. Not to mention that he’s purchased nearly all of my CD releases. Thank you Don, for your continued loyalty and support. Mike Johnson
